Response to HC Legislative Review of the Cannabis Act - Nov. 2022

Updated: Jun 19, 2023

With the "3-year" review of the Cannabis Act finally underway, the CAVCM has responded. Once again, we have addressed the issues of adding veterinarians to the list of healthcare providers that can authorize medical cannabis for our patients, including on the warning label of cannabis "Keep out of the reach of children and pets", and addressing the recently published report from the Science Advisory Committee on the development of Health Products with Cannabis for pets.

The open consultation period remains open until November 21, 2022 and individuals and organizations are encouraged to submit their feedback through an online survey or by submitting their own letter.
